He
is surely the person who are more proud of all
the Rimini citizens, the directors who loved Romagna
and that best of all other let know its life and
more deep spirit. He was born in Rimini the 20th
of January 1920. he lived an happy childhood and
youth in middle class family. He moved to Rome
to follow his dream of becoming a journalist,
entering in touch with the world of cinema, fist
of all as REDATTORE and later as a chronicler,
then as collaborators and SCENEGGIATORE.His first
direction was in 1950 but his international success
arrived with “I Vitelloni-“ and then
with “la Strada” which was prized
with the Oscar as best foreigner movie. Then he
directed worlds wide successes such as La dolce
Vita and Otto e mezzo which are considered as
real masterpieces of the modern cinema.The most
spectacular part of his cinema gave life to movies
such as Amarcord and La voce della Luna. His best
protagonist in his best movies was his wife Giulietta
Masina, married in 1943, who spent all her life
with hem .He died in Rome the 31st of October
a few months after he received his 5th Oscar for
his career.
